We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team providing superior client care at our facility.

The receptionist is the clients' first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person.
Clients and pets should be greeted in a warm and enthusiastic manner making them feel like they made the right choice in veterinary care.
Receptionist must possess strong organizational skills, excellent telephone, interpersonal communication and multi-tasking skills and the ability to remain in a busy environment.
Receptionist must have compassion for animals and their owners and understand the stress that patients and clients can be in.
The Veterinary Receptionist must enjoy working with people as much as with animals.
The right person for this role will have good interpersonal skills and promoting a positive work environment.
This role is fast-paced and often requires significant communication and multi-tasking.
Primary Job Responsibilities Customer Service & Client Care Greeting clients who enter the clinic in a warm and welcoming manner.
Assessing pets that enter the clinic, making sure a pet does not need immediate care.
Answer questions a client might have about their pet, their visit or general inquires in a clear and concise manner, showing concern and care throughout the call.
Prepare incoming patient charts, and file charts alphabetically at end of day.
o Daily appointment reminder calls Check-in incoming patients for appointments, boarding and grooming, reviewing vaccinations and procedures required.
Alert staff of patient's arrival o Update and maintain patient files.
Monitor clients wait time in waiting room and on phone and make sure client has not been forgotten, apprise clients of situations that have caused delay.
Answering phone calls, which may include answering questions or scheduling appointments.
Handle incoming and outgoing email communications.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
Prepare and mail mailers to new clients, sympathy cards to families of pets who have passed.
Receive prescription refills, review, and chart accurately.
Process charges and payments accurately and maintain a balance cash drawer.
Handle over the counter sales of food and other pet-related items.
Maintain cleanliness of reception area Stock reception area over the counter sales items End of day, balance drawer and run end of day accounting & service reports Maintain a positive attitude about your job and your coworkers Any additional tasks Qualifications High school degree, GED or equivalence required, eligible to work in United States 1 year of experience in an animal hospital or in customer service strong preferred Must have excellent time management, organization and communication skills.
Ability to read and write in English and to communicate clearly is required.
Basic office equipment and computer skills required to manage admin tasks and use software to enter services, medications, procedures, and updates into records.
Strong client skills, especially verbal and written communication.
Knowledge of commonly used veterinary terminology is preferred.
Must be dependable, trustworthy, pleasant, detailed-oriented.
Must enjoy interacting with both patients and their families.
Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable mode of transportation.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, some weekends.
Physical Requirements Able to stand 8-10 hours daily.
Must be able to grasp, hold and manipulate objects.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
and carry food or assist clients with getting patients in and out of car.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, this essential employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients, infected animals and controlled substances, exposure to loud noises, unpleasant odors, and emotional demands related to euthanasia, animal neglect.
Our office follows all federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DEA.
